GENERAL INFORMATION

The peaceful Queenston Heights Park is located high atop the Niagara Escarpment, greeting visitors with exquisite gardens and vegetation. This park, filled with rich history, is a sanctuary for outdoor lovers and nature enthusiasts. It has been and it continues to be used by hikers, those with a passion for gardens and nature, as well as picnickers, runners and walkers.

This park was the site of the famous Battle of Queenston Heights in October of 1812, when Sir Isaac Brock fell while planning a charge on the American Forces. Commemorating the roles of  both Laura Secord and Sir Isaac Brock in the War of 1812 are two memorials in this landscaped park on the Niagara Escarpment.

The Park has spectacular views of the lower Niagara River, Lake Ontario, and, on a clear day, the Toronto skyline in the distance. Parks Canada oversees the operation of Brock's Monument and also has a walking tour of the historic sites associated with this important battleground.

From Toronto
Take Queen Elizabeth Way (Niagara) over the Garden City Skyway in St. Catharines
Left at King's Highway 405
Take the Stanley Avenue exit toward County Road-102/Niagara Falls
Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Niagara Parkway
Continue onto Portage Road
At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Niagara Parkway and follow signs for Queenston Heights Park

From Niagara Falls

Head north on Victoria Avenue toward Valley Way

Turn left at Niagara Parkway

At the roundabout, take the second exit into Queenston Height Park

From USA
Head north on Stanely Avenue toward McRae Street
Turn right to stay on Stanley Avenue
Continue onto Portage Road
At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the Niagara Parkway

Queenston Heights Park is also a terminus point of the Bruce Trail, which winds it way northward over several hundred kilometers to Tobermory. This trail passes through the Niagara Escarpment, which has been recognized as a world biosphere by U.N.E.S.C.O.

A band shell is available for performances and covered Pavilions can accommodate 800 people and many more with tenting for all types of events. Pavilion group catering is also offered through Queenston Heights Restaurant.
