General Information

The site is known as where Colonel John Butler lays; it features two plaques commemorating him and his troops.  Colonel John Butler was an instrumental force in alliance between Natives and the British during the late 18th Century in Upper Canada.  Known for forming the Butler's Rangers, an infantry group that held land for the British south of the Great Lakes after the American Revolution, Butler's work was  instrumental in the development of the British stronghold in the Niagara area.
